75 Newport 21?
HI folks, I am a novice so bear with me. I have been sailing my Newport 17 Mello Daze for a couple of years now. But have been looking for somthing a little bigger. Over Memoial Day weekend. I attended an auction where a Newport 21 had been consigned. It had been de masted, the mast base casting and bracket are gone. The mainsail boom is gone and one sidestay cable is broken. Actually I dont really know what caused the damage. The rest of the boat is pretty clean. The sails are good. Whatever happened, I intend to fix it. My winning bid was $600.00 Did I do OK? I think I can put a new cable together ( I'm an aircraft Mech) and I can whittle up a new mast base (The mast extrusion material itself is not damaged) But the boom will be a bigger challenge. I assume it will be similar to the boom on my N17 just BIGGER. Yes? Any help, advice, Pictures of other N21 hardware? Tell me what you think.
