Re: Ranger 26 - Still Looking for Racing Data

Yes, thank you, Faster. No pictures yet. Since I'm in a relatively light air area (Chattanooga, TN), I've had a new 155 genoa built by a local sailmaker. My earlier posts were looking for sail dimensions and tuning suggestions. Now it's clear that the winches on this 1972 boat (purchased in 2012) have been moved too far back on the cockpit coaming. I'm either going to move them well forward on the coaming or onto the cabin top. It will be better for crew to be able to stay forward. Also, for singlehanding, as well as racing, I want mainsheet and traveler control further forward than back at the motor well.

Seen this?

Posting some pics of what you have may lead to suggestions for improvements.

Ranger 26 - Still Looking for Racing Data

Just thought I'd check in again, now having some experience with racing Coot, my 1972 Ranger 26. So far, so good, but I'm looking for suggestions on winch placement, tuning, etc.
