Re: Looking for a new boat

Whats the rule on water use ? I think something like 1 gallon a day per person. 35 gallon Tank doesent take into accound bottled items.

If your realy looking for a step up and or want to go cruising take a look over my add. I have an Islander Freeport for sale. Livaboard ?

Looking for a new boat

Looking for a new boat. One more salt water friendly than what I have now.
I have a chance to buy a Privateer 26, with a trailer. Just had all the electric rewired. Wood work needs to be refinished, but has a fresh bottom and deck. Cutter rig.
A Bristol 27 has caught my eye also. But like the Privateer is a narrow 8' beam.
There is a really pristine looking Islander 28 that is recent to the market, but a 5' draft. As is the Islander Bahama 30. The Islanders are nice boats, but would really like to visit Bimini area one day. 5' could keep me out of some anchorages, or so I hear.
Then there is the Irwin Citation 34. Also a reasonable boat. Mast steps and a wind generator and much better tankage.

Anyone out there with small tankage cruisers that can tell me how you get by with 25 to 30 gallons of water. With out a water maker or enough jerry cans on the deck to float the boat?
