Re: Atlanta sailor!

Hey thanks for the info! I took the intro course and now I'm signed up for ASA 103&104. Basic Coastal cruising. I signed up with Captain Bob Patroni. He is located in Pensacola FL. I really don't have a lot of intention of doing much sailing on the Lake. I don't own a boat sadly. I'm looking to become proficient to solo sail to the Caribbean.

Welcome to Lanier

I'm also sailing on Lanier. Awesome sailing - especially now that we've got water in the lake again :-)
Lots of sailboats on the lake, but also tons of stinkboaters :-)
Lanier gets very busy during the summer months and sometimes it seems safe boating is unfortunately not necessarily part of Lanier culture.
Best sailing (wind wise) though is fall to spring and during this time generally the lake is pretty much devoid of power boaters

Atlanta sailor!

Hello all! I am new to sailing. I grew up in Mobile around water my entire life. Now that I'm all grown up I've got the itch again to be around everything boats and beaches! So here I find myself living in Atlanta seeking out the Lanier Sailing club and learning the fundamentals!!
