Re: Newport 30 on Craigslist

Update,

I went with yall's advice and did not go for her. I instead got a 28ft Spirit for considerably less, and she is in mint (as good as a 30 year old can be) condition. I am very happy with the purchase.

thanks all

Re: Newport 30 on Craigslist

Second, or third the motion...That's what I paid for my 78 several years ago...one thing to consider, is it a salt water or fresh water boat. If you are looking at a salt water boat, there are lots of little things to look at that are different than a boat that has never been in the salt water environment.

Re: Newport 30 on Craigslist

I agree, too - it seems a bit high. Unless the boat is in perfect condition, recently refinished woodwork throughout, rebuilt engine components, etc., that's too high.

I agree. You should be able to find a better 30 footer for less...

Re: Newport 30 on Craigslist

Actually, the price looks high to me. Have you checked out Yachtworld to see what other Newports and similar 30 footers that are 40 years old are selling for?

Newport 30 on Craigslist

Hey everyone...

I am looking at a Newport 30 on Craigslist. It's being sold from a broker, and the pics look great. With a great price, and the good pics, I was concerned with it (1974 for $11,000) as the old saying goes "if it looks to good to be true...".

Any real good advice on what to look for?

J
