Re: BVI to Florida - short notice

I am currently in Utilla Honduras. Having started my trip in feb with a voyage on a 45' cat from Puerto Rico to San Blas Panama it would be a great way back to the states. But I do need to be back in New York by May 1st. Can provide refs and more details if you are interested.

BVI to Florida - short notice

Hi -

I am in the process of securing a delivery from the BVI to Florida - hopefully beginning April 15 (short notice, I know). Please let me know if you would be interested:

Hylas 49, Virgin Islands to Florida (7-day passage, straight shot unless the Gulf Stream kicks up the last day). 2 prep days and 1 cleanup day also.

Exact dates are uncertain, but I am hoping for an April 15 arrival into BVI and an April 25 end date in Florida. Piece-of-cake delivery, usually very light apparent winds on the quarter/stern.

Crew must have offshore experience and provide sailing log/resume, as well as references.

Terms:
No per diem pay.
Food covered while on passage but not while in port.
Reasonable transportation to and from the boat is covered, up to $700.

As the captain, I have intimate knowledge of the Hylas 49. I ran one for a year just two years ago, and have been working on Hylas yachts for the past six years. I have made this trip, over different routes, more than a dozen times in my 36 year and 63,000 mile career. Safety-conscious and calm demeanor.

If you are interested and available for these dates, please send your sailing log/resume to jim0123r AT gmail DOT com (don't forger the "r" after the "3").

I look forward to your response -
Jim
