Re: L-30 manual

There is a very good general rig tuning guide here. Other than the fact that it's in metric only, it's very useful. Also if you ask around your marina or boatyard you might find someone who'd let you borrow a Loos gauge to make the adjustments. It's pretty straightforward on a masthead rig. Good luck with the projects and have fun with the "new" boat!

Re: L-30 manual

Thanks to you both for a quick reply! I take possession of her tomorrow and was just hope for a manual to provide some basic information such a proper tuning of the rigging and so forth. I also have an 1974 Columbia 26-T with a manual and it was very helpful for such things as proper sail dimensions, hardware specs and the like. Oh well, I guess I shall just have to “play it by ear”.

Re: L-30 manual

John,

As far as I know, there is no manual for our boats. Tom Lippincott of Salt Yacht Brokerage built many of the boats and is a wealth of information on construction and original systems. I have been slowly refurbishing mine since I bought her last year. Any specific question I can answer? There are a few other owners on sailnet who will probably chime in.

Re: L-30 manual

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new L-30! I've been in contact with and have even met some other L-30 owners and haven't been able to locate more than the sales brochures after three years of trying. It sure would be nice to have a manual but in truth one may have never been printed for a boat that had such a limited production run.

L-30 manual

Hi fellow sailors! I am new to SailNet and I am in the process of getting a 1984 Lippincott L-30. Does anyone have an idea where I might find a copy of the owner’s manual for this vessel? She is a potential beauty, but does need LOTS of work. I have looked all over the net and all I have found so far is a copy of the sales brochure.

Thanks-
John
