We recently purchased our 1973 Yankee 38. Lovely craft! Only 30 or so of those were made before the company collapsed in 1975. Solid as a rock; everything is top of the line. I see why the company folded... Would really like to see an original ad or know the purchase prices when new , but info is so scarce on these rare beauties... Would love to hear input from other Yankee owners.

Re: Yankee 30
I saw a Yankee in a yard near Annapolis and was impressed - she certainly had the feel of a "real" boat, sort of like a traditional wooden boat but made in glass, not spartan but no-nonsense. Nice boats!

Re: Yankee 30
I will second that with one Caveat. Yankee's are great boats with a great history and most are still sailing. Not just the 30, but the 24 Dolphin, 24 Sea Horse, 26, 28, 30 and 38. Sea Horse, 26 and 28 are Finch Designs. Dolphin, 30 and 38 are SS Designs. 30 and 38 went to Catalina. Dolphin went back to Oday as I recall and not sure where the Finch boats went to, but Islander, et all are about the same, but not near the quality of the YYs. The Catalina 30 and 38 are based off of the Yankee's.
All the Yankees I have seen in the past few years have glass that is still in really good shape for 40 years.

Need a category for the Yankee 30. While less than 150 of the boats were made in the 70's, most of them are still sailing. A very similar boat to the Tartan 30, which has it's own group. The only Yankee owners group I'm aware of uses ancient Internet technology. Please give us a category in Builders Row.
