Re: Garmin GPS 152 will not calculate tides after 01/01/2012

Tried my Garmin GPSMap 478 and it still provides tidal data through 2023. The date for tides in the Oregon 400c can only be scrolled forward one day at a time. Did not have time to go more than a few months in the future.

Same thing happened with an older Garmin GPS-72 that I have and I found some discussion about it on this here interweb thingy. I haven't checked yet to see if it can be sent in for an update.

Not familiar with that particular unit. Has it been discontinued. That might be an issue with a lot of units. Did you check with Garmin? I have a Gpsmap 3006, Gpsmap 478 and an Oregon 400c. The dates for purpose of determining tides can be changed for all units. I'll look to see how far in the future the tide function will work.

Garmin GPS 152 will not calculate tides after 01/01/2012

Greetings

I have a Garmin GPS 152 that appears to be fully functional in every respect except that it will not calculate tide data for any station after 01/01/2012.

I have downloaded and installed the latest software and the Americas POI DB from Garmin.

Is this planned obsolescence by Garmin, or am I missing something?

Thanks
Addison
