I certainly wouldn't put up with mould. Not saying it cannot occur but if it does then I'm putting a stop to it. If a boat is not insulated well enough to prevent mould then at least make sure anything stowed has ventilation.

a boat that doesent sweat with condensation also helps ..teak lined..makes big difference

mold is not acceptable & with proper ventilation &air movement can be controlled.dehumidifying boat from human breath etc.is key..fireplace will work..fans....good thru ventelation...& routine wipe down of area...live ed aboard for 20 plus years no mold.
