Re: Howdy!

Thanks guys. I'm on hold--working feverishly to get my trailer lights lit. Tried it all but running lights don't work-- breaks do but not if I turn on the headlights. Weird.

Re: Howdy!

Welcome! We had friends who years ago had an AMF Apollo. Nice little boat. Bruce Kirby knew/knows his stuff.

Like many racing dinghys it will give you a swim at times. They're the most fun!

Be warned! It is addictive.

Howdy!

I've been in and out of the forums for a while now while, looking, dreaming of owning a sailboat. Got ASA 101 certified in the mean time and planned on a boat in the 25-30 ft range.

A friend of my wife found out that we had an interest in sailing and she had an Apollo 16 to sell and while not everyone in the family is comfortable with a non-weighted keel, we decided to go for it.

Our maiden voyage will be this Thursday evening--provided I can get "all" the trailer lights working!

There's not a lot of info available about our boat, in fact I think I have read all of it. My plan is to take it REALLY easy as I've read this boat performs and dunking the boss first time out won't be good.

Expect lot's of questions...and answers if/when I have them!

Steve
