We use Micron CSC, which works fine for us. The "extra" apparently contains a separate biocide from the CuO, and is not deemed necessary around here. (Long Island Sound) A good feature of the CSC is that you can haul out, even for long periods, and not lose the anti-fouling properties. This is not the case with all paints. (I don''t know about VC17 in this regard.) Do be sure to apply extra coats where the pads are, because the abrasion will thin the paint there. Also, if you do different colors in different years, you''ll be able to see exactly how long an ablative (CSC) lasts for you.

anyone had any experience with interlux vc-17
or csc extra. I am using it on a 26 foot trailerable boat that will be in freshwater in the midwest for 9 months a year. Also what about barrier coats vc tar vs 2000/1? Could I use 2000/1 with the vc 17 with similiar results or should i stick with the vc tar?
