Yes, Collocate was supposed to be complicate!

As to the Africa reference, well, let's just say that east and west got confused in my mind.

aha ... there's your big mistake ... never presume.

Now ... being a wiser man than your good self I never presume though I did have a guess that she meant Arctic Siberia not Pacific. Guessing is so much more scientific than presumption.

I don't quite understand the African reference nor Collocate ? Australian actress nicked ? I'm thinking maybe your 'complicate' got itself spellchecked ?

If we do say Arctic Siberia and presuming, sorry, guessing, that we are not too far west then going through the BS (at the height of summer) would seem to make sense, rather than across the top and down into the North Sea.

Can you use a definition of Siberia that includes all of the Russian Far East Pacific coastline?

I suspect she was alluding to the fact that as a navigator compared with Magellan she is figuratively blind. Hopefully the sprog will be more adept at avoiding spears.

I cannot see why if you are heading from Siberia to Kansas ... no Oz ..... Oh damn it Australia then ..... you would not choose to go through the Berring Straits. It just makes sense. At least to me.

These guys did a similar voyage but in reverse and when they went through the BS they turned right to Europe.

OK, it's official. I now hate Caleb. Introducing that 27bslash6 page to me has just made it impossible to get ANYTHING done until I read every article. Thanks for sucking up my life, friend! ..

Great stuff.. thanks for the chuckles. Makes the "Jerky Boys" seem polite....

Good idea. I really don't understand the question. What is at issue with blindness? What type of vessel? Non stop or not? etc., etc.

Oh - that guy is good:

I don't have a cat. I once agreed to look after a friend's cat for a week but after he dropped it off at my apartment and explained the concept of kitty litter, I kept the cat in a closed cardboard box in the shed and forgot about it. If I wanted to feed something and clean faeces, I wouldn't have put my mother in that home after her stroke.
Bam.
