sailingdog Given Bumfuzzle's website, and the serious problems they had with their first boat from the company that built Bumfuzzle, I am not all too surprised that the boat didn't sell. Charter Cats has a long history of making less than stellar boats, at least among the other multihull sailors I know.

EscapadeCaliber40LRC I see the bumfuzzle sale deal fizzled. Looks like the current owners will remain in possession. Hope the wind gods remain kind as they try to unload their stead through a broker there in South Florida.

Lurch Freidrich von Schiller may have said it best:

"Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain."

sailingdog Unfortunately, when someone succeeds in doing something foolish, they generally don't think, "Wow, that was really dumb, I should have listened to what those other guys were trying to tell me..." Usually they think, "See, I knew it could be done my way, and those guys were such wusses for thinking that it might be dangerous or unwise." Then they brag about it...and more fools are created.

In the race between man and God, where man tries to make something fool-proof and God makes a fool....God is winning, since he can upgrade all of his existing ones to the latest model for free.

Cruisingdad So he made it, huh?

Well, thank god for him and his crew. I am glad he made it.

Unfortunately, that does not prove anything. And even worse, it will likely pave the way for him to influence others to make that trip ill-prepared. Just because he did it and made it safely does not mean he should have done it or it CAN be done safely. However, I wonder if that point will make any sense to him or others that might try???

Thoughts?

sailingdog Although, anyone who uses Mr. & Mrs. Howell as their avatar has to be very suspect in nature... and their mental stabilty is somewhat in doubt...

Let's face it... he doesn't have the proper sense of humor to be a good sailor... and most of the wackos that I hang out with here on Sailnet are pretty good eggs... some are a bit soft-boiled though.
Thanks SD, ...I think
