That cabinet no-slip stuff hot glued to the bottom works well too. Maybe too well sometimes. Just don't do cups, they spill less when they can slide a bit.

Just coat the top of the table with a nice layer of rubber cement.. and let dry. I assure you, the plates won't slide.

Home made non skid for plates
Actually I have seen this done, and have been thinking of doing it. The last two boat shows I went to did this for the plates and glasses. They had these in the powerboats I saw (I am will be struck by lightning at any moment). The plates G refered to are expensive as heck. Most of us do not have any money left after taking care of our boats so we need something to eat our spam on.

Just make sure the silicone is dry before you put the plates down
I see that as a possible solution. Why don't you just buy the ones with the rubber or the sticky mats??
Silicone will cone off after a while

hey, somebody at WM suggested buying cheap plates, and running a ring of silicone around the bottom, for non skid.
anyone ever do this (or willing to admit to above?)
