Gary M How did you decide that you need new mounts ? My boat is an '84 and they are original. I get a fair bit of engine movement but how much is too much ? I pried up on the mounts and the rubber is still bonded to the metal.

Mine is a Yanmar 2 GM and the mounts from Yanmar are rather expensive. A mechanic told me that if I go for the more standard mount I will get a lot more vibration transferred to the boat.

Going to find another Yanmar 2 GM and see how much it moves.

Nope..... if they did, most front wheel drive cars wouldn't drive very well... especially on a straight road.

Motor mounts and engine couplers, oh my!

So it's long past time to replace my 20 Y/O motor mounts. Im looking at the R&Ds in West. They are rated by weight. Is this for each mount or as a group of four? IE, 100 lb rating, is that 25 lbs each or for a 400 lb motor? Also I asume the price is each? Id call west but I get so POed talking to those idiots I usualy end up hanging up without an answer.
Also Im looking at the R&D flex shaft coupler. Does the shaft need to be cut to make these fit?
As always, thanks for the help!
