Not sure where the 46 degrees F comes from, must be out of date, the UGLOS buoy #45029 two miles offshore of Tunnel Park, just south of Port Sheldon has the water temp at 67.7 F from surface to 9.8 feet of depth. They must not have been able to right the thing, looks stern down from the picture, def. not normal.

A surfing website says the water temp in this area of Lake Michigan is 46 degrees F. That might account for a simple Hobie capsize turning into a distress situation.
