Was happy when I stumbled on this forum. I post questions and all the people who respond are mostly men...not that I mind or that there is anything wrong with that, but let's face it. Men and women have a different thought process and sometimes it is nice to get a female perspective.

Not to hijack the thread, But have to tell you I'd meet these amazing people in Palma de Majorca in '66. I'd made models of Yankee as a boy so what an honor. I've still got the last bits of teak from her taffrail (Rara Tonga) and got a guilded tour of the Irving and the Electa in LA when they were outfitting. So different,eh!

I was privileged to have been introduced to this lady many years ago, as well as her husband. They were family friends. I read most of her letters from the Brigantine "Yankee." It's a different world now.

Other opinions?

I have the same ambivalence about "women-only" sailing instruction, but perhaps that's fodder for a separate thread.
I'm of a like mindset. I like to think that our sex does not define who we are as individuals. We aren't baboons after all, inside each one of us is a thinking being with a personality all our own that far transcends mere sex. I believe that to focus on a persons sex is to deny in some way their much more important humanity.

Hi Lesley- LOL... I am so new to this site ... I wrote you a private message but it didn't go through cuz I'm too new (I guess). Probation issue??? I'll get the hang of it...
Yes, the Pearson is my baby. I'll be down tomorrow (Wed.) after work - likely to arrive around 5p. Stop by for a glass of wine and story or two... if you are around at that time...

Re: HerSailnet...Ground Rules

Hahaha! I was wondering who had the nice - looking Pearson at the beginning of C dock - LOL! Walk to the end of C Dock and you'll find my Morgan parked on the T-head. When are you going down tomorrow? I'll stop by to say hello. (Sorry Mods for turning this into a meetup ..... your rules about not being able to PM until until a certain number of posts ;-)

I'll try to PM u and send a friend request. I think I have just barely passed probation.

I now return this thread to its regularly scheduled programming .....

Hi Leslie- wow, that's where my boat is now also. I'm on C-dock. Actually I will be down tomorrow to check on her and hang out a bit. Just wintering there then will move on to the NJ Coast in the spring.
Would lov to chat about boating sometime!

Re: HerSailnet...Ground Rules

Hi Lisa,
Where are you in Delaware? I just moved my boat (single-handed, perhaps I will post a "story" of my first adventure moving my Morgan 416 by myself to a new destination :^) to Summit North where I am keeping it for the winter.
