TwentySeven wow, what an amazing plan! Is it open to everyone?

I'm not a racer but the idea of spending a few days in Lisbon learning and sailing in the Atlantic (which I have never done) is fantastic. And Lisbon and the area is one of the nicests places in the world (mmmm can't wait to try again Viriato's codfish in Cascais)

I'll keep an eye on this post while the plans become specific and I'll do my best to try to join you guys

They know what they are doing here....in Portugal we don't get excited because women sail boats alone or not....and thy don't feel important because they do it either....

Many are just very good at it....and very competitive and aggressive.

By the way...that team ran aground a few months ago and the boat sank in the rocks..

Joel73 Well we would definately be up for it but we already have our tickets and will be in Portugal from March 28th through April 8th '08. (In Lisbon 4/3-4/8).... so unless it happends to fall on those dates i guess we can't make it.

werebeagle I'd be up for it. I should be able to squirrel away enough dough by then, as long as we don't have a winter like the last one, which drastically decreased the income.

Does the crew that's in the first photo come with the boat?

starboardyacht For all the folks out there who hate the idea of "guided tours", this is a fantastic opportunity...... something to look forward too.... i hope you guys can pull this together, I AM IN, if you can......

p.s. gobble gobble to everyone

bestfriend Mmmmm, crackers.

I don't know about you, but if I can't have sex, I plan on shooting myself, not eating crackers.

Giulietta OK...

I will try and see what Bernardo wants to charge for each boat, we then get the "average" airfare from the US to Lisbon.

Now, accomodation is another issue..we can either camp in the camping park in CAscais, (well you do, I'll sleep at home), or we make a dorm in my garage at home, or I try to get a deal at a local "cheap motel".

Give me a few weeks to come up with a "package" for this..

I am amazed how many people here in Sailnet, and the lack of guts to do something like this...

By the way, this does not mean we will race to kill, we will race seriously, but we all crew the boats, no rent-a-captains, or anything...

we make teams randomly...its all for fun, food drink, sail, and take the chance to visit a fun Country with good people excellent wine and weather...

Just think what you will have gained to tell the kids when you get older and instead of having sex, you sit in your bed edge, eating crackers and drinking Seven up...c'mon...guys....

Sailingfool...I dare you come....

SD, I'm not a competitive racer either, but I think it is a great idea to get some people together with a common interest, learn a few things, and have some fun and make new friendships. Also, what better reason to go to Portugal! So, Giu, SD is a yes.

Giu, ok, after one day, there are not 100 replies of "I'm in", but we should look at putting something together to consider, even if with a smaller group, and see where it goes.
