San Francisco to Baja

Sugest you pick up some issues of "Latitude 38" published in your area. They discuss the trip often.

Reading Dana''s "Two Years Before The Mast" might be apropos, before you set out.

you can get to southern california without spending a single night at sea if you wish. It can be a nice way to start a cruise without driving to hard right out of the chute...The anchorages/ harbors are Halfmoom Bay, Santa Cruz, Stillwater cove, San Simeon, Moro bay, Avila beach, and lots more below point conception. Not all are good in strong southerly conditions.

Wait until the weather will be stable (and favorable) for a couple of days before you head south of Monterey. The jump from stillwater to san simeon is the longest of the trip to point conception.
