The perfect Sailing Song

Ok, I''m preparing for my maiden voyage as a captain of my own boat. I''ve finished installing a CD player and after anchoring I''d like some nice tunes. Other than the oldie Goldie "Sailing" by Christopher Cross, what songs capture the perfect afternoon sailing. Just curious what the opinions are. My second choice would probably be Jimmy Buffett.

Some Buffett "sailing" favorites:
Lovely Cruise
Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude
Boat Drinks
Migration
Pirate Looks at 40
Floridays
Trying to Reason with a Hurricane Season

Also:

"Sail Away" by David Gray
"If I Had a Boat" by Lyle Lovett
"Christian Island" by Gordon Lightfoot

Hey Denr........seems that the syrup is now in your court........so to speak. (Envisioning Denr reaching for a Yanni CD now, or maybe Douglas Spotted Eagle and his Indian flute?????)

Is it spring yet?

Nope, Denr.........never meant to compare Sting to "Yawni." So you can calm down, play something quiet, and have your syrup applied the way you want it, where you want it. (And don''t forget the Sailkote chaser.)

How many more months of this kind of exchange do we have until spring launch???????? I''d rather talk about wheel vs. tiller, or hank on vs. roller furling.

Kokopelli,

We ARE having fun.......can''t you tell? Any time we can jerk Denr''s chain, we do it, and he returns the favor.

Besides, I''m the one who had to tell him what Kokopelli is anyway. (He''s lived a very sheltered life.) Plus, you can imagine that if he didn''t know about Kokopelli, he REALLY had no idea about the Avanyu either.

Only 120 days until launch. Somehow it doesn''t seem so bad that way.

Trust me, we are lightened up -- such as it were, so to speak, etc.

PS.......when you''re through with that book you got from Denr, I''m next on the list. He sent me a bunch of pamphlets on precision gears instead. :)

Ok, getting serious again. More Buffett tunes for the CD:

Son of a Son of a Sailor
12 Volt Man
One Particular Harbor
Captain and the Kid
Cheeseburger in Paradise
and the classic: Weather is Here, Wish You were Beautiful

There are more, but I''ll shut up.

Ha!Ha! Denr didn''t tell me that he didn''t know about Kokopelli...so what did you tell him? Did you mention that Koko was not only good at choosing "wind songs" but being the god of free love, he was good with the syrup also?

And you''re the next on the book list? Well, it''s due to ship out tomorrow...just remember that you have to sign it and pass it on to another...point is to see how far it will go before it gets back home.
Now , back to the sticky mess and melodies...

I''m surprised, shocked and appalled you don''t know Gordon Sumner. Perhaps I should start a new thread...."win a cookie and guess the true identity of Gordon Sumner".

Hey, it''s only 131 days, 18 hours and 55 minutes until spring launch but who''s counting.

OK, send me the book and I''ll send you the precision gear pamphlets. Fair is fair, huh? When finished with the book, I''ll find it a new reader before it goes back to Denr and his sticky fingers. (Sorry, couldn''t resist.) I''m sure Duane Mesmer-Ising could use a good winter''s read.

Kokopelli -- OK on the work. But holler when you can come out and play.

Denr -- Gordon Sumner is the real name of Sting. Touche. Chalk one up for Google!
