I live in Pittsburgh so I guess I would have to say the South East end. But I can drive as needed.

Dear Paul -
Check out the Sandusky Sailing Club (see web site) where no one is ever (to my knowledge) left at the dock. Actually, Wed evenings are better to jump on a boat. We have a big fleet out then. Also, note our classroom course on sailing starting in late January.

Sailing Lake Erie Summer of 08

Looking for sailing opportunities on Lake Erie weekends in 2008. Would like to crew to gain experience. Have Bareboat Cruising cert.
