Currently purchasing 34 Catalina which I believe has a undersized Anchor. CQR25. Please reply and provide information which to buy and why. CQR35, Or Delta.

Thanks

A 25 pound CQR is an excellent anchor. If you combine it with at least 50 feet of 5/16th inch chain and the necessay rode for a minimun or 5 to 1 but better is 7 to1 scope, it will work with your boat under most conditions. The real questions is what type of bottom and how deep will you be anchoring? A 35# CQR might give you more peace of mind but unless you enjoy hoisting the extra weight I think the 25# one is adaquate. I am not of the school of thought that bigger is necassarily better.
If I was cruising I would have a variety of anchors.
