Re: Rum enjoyment

Helped a bartender here working on a recipe for winter grog this evening. So far it's 2 oz of dark rum, 1 tsp sugar syrup, 1/4 tsp of lemon juice, two dashes of Peychauds bitters, and about an oz and a half of just-off-the-boil water in a mug.

Re: Rum enjoyment

I recently discovered Jim Beam Honey, a honey bourbon that has a unique flavor, goes down smooth over ice, and inexpensive at $12 a 5th. While it will not displace my coconut rum for my Green Coconut Margareta, it's near the top of the shelf in my boat's booze locker. Good stuff!

Meanwhile, I'll take my chances.
Why wreck a good scotch with ice?

I love Myer's on ice. I even love just unscrewing the cap and smelling it!
