NEED INSTRUCTION

If you live in central Florida, you are near some of the best sailing schools in the country. St. Pete has a number of good ones, I know people who teach in all of them so won''t mention names. You can learn in a week all the basics plus plenty of on water time. It is doubtful that you would be able to pick up all the knowledge of a captain you sailed with. Rules of the road, charts and plotting, weather, etc are better learned in a classroom rather then in the school of hard knocks. Have you tried one of the Coast Guard Auxiliary classes on basic boating? This would be a good place to start and would make you a more desirable sailing companion. Good luck in any case.

NEED INSTRUCTION

anyone out there who might be interested in taking on a friend/student/crewman on a week-end type sail. I want to know sailing, at this point I know nothing, so anything I learn will be an extension of your knowledge being carried on. I live in central florida. I can go to a sailing school, but I fear they might be like truck driving schools( give you the basics and you still don''t know squat when you get out on your own)
I wish for hands on training, in return I''ll be your crewman/friend and soak up your knowledge, that way I learn by doing instead of getting the basics an then have to go try them out. would rather get the basics an more while I''m in the middle of doing it.
but do be warned, I am a total green hand, will need to know everything from the very beginning.
ANY TAKERS
