The bridge seamed to be flat.We went under on our port side as close as we could get. I did report this discepancy. Yes mine is a walk through but I wish I had a larger engine room. The walk through is nice when it's cold & rainy. We also have a 6 year old,makes her feel better.

CaptainForce fcsob, It sounds like your 414 and my 413 have the same height. Without unsuall tides, I've always cleared the 55' bridges from the one to Goodland at Marco Island to the Cape May Canal in New Jersey. If there is an arc making the center of the bridge span higher then the standard is to have the clearance guage post the lowest clearance at the side, so maybe the 52.5 was accurate by that method. Is the 414 ketch a walkthrough? - mine's not, but I love the bigger engine room space. Of course everything's a compromise on a boat!

Mine is a 414 ketch. The PO said the height was 54 plus windex. On my way to Glades Boat Yard up the Caloosahatchee river the first bridge was 54.8 & we were ok. The last bridge {I-75 bridge} the marker said 52.5. We came about, backed into the bridge,tied off, & slowly backed into the bridge. It was just under 55ft. Just can't trust em.

CaptainForce I have a 1973 413 ketch at 54'. Yours is a 415? 416? Ketch? Sloop? Standard or tall rig w/ two sets of spreaders? Since there are so many variables I'd would not trust an online response. Take a direct measurement. Run a line up your main halyard and measure it from the deck. Add the deck to waterline and what is probably 2' from the sail head to the masthead. Don't trust my two foot guess either. Tape a wooden dowl rod to the halyard so it stands up when hoisted and look with binoculars to match what ever you have standing proud at the masthead. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew

Anybody have the mast height,1976 OI ketch ?
