www.marineplanner.com is another place for electronic charts that you can select what you want - not free but reasonably priced.

Doubt that their coverage is what you need, but here is a place for free, government issued electronic charts. You''ll have to search the web for a free chart viewing program (I downloaded one from something called 7Cs). Just search the web for ENC Viewer or something like that.

So Jeff finishes his big first day of ditch digging and goes to collect his pay.

"Sir" he says respectfully, "I''m here for my pay."

"Your WHAT?" asks the property owner.

"My pay, for digging the ditch." he replies.

"Why would I want to give you money for a ditch that''s in my yard?" the landowner asks.

"Because you hired me to dig it." states Jeff.

"Well, son, don''t you belong to some neoutopian society where you live for free on your boat, eat fish, download pirated music, scanned books and free maps?" the man asks.

"Yes, I do." replies Jeffy.

"If that''s the case, why should I pay you, I live in the same society, where everything is free, and thanks for the ditch, it looks good." he said walking off.

"But wait" Jeff shouts to the man "That''s not fair."

"Fair?" replied the man "Fair would be you paying taxes to dig the channels for your boat to sail through, fair would be buying the books you read so the authors who wrote them could feed their families." said the man, spinning on his heals. "You want everything for FREE, but then you come to me to work and expect to get PAID?"

"But how will I get food other than fish?" Jeff asked "this diet sucks, I need a burger and fries."

"Do they have free food down at the shelter?" asked the man?

"Yes" replied Jeff.

"Then why would you want to pay money for something you can get for free?" asked the man.

"Because the food sucks!" replied Jeff.

"You get what you pay for." says the man "sounds fair to me."

Real sorry and I mean no insult, but you are not serious are you? The fella askes for used charts of the Bahamas but these links are to cheesy Asian island map images; not charts, not the Caribbean, and the half-way around the world from the requested destination.

I mean you are not actually suggesting that using GIF and JPG images of maps can replace a navigation chart? What have islands near the Phillipines have to do with the Bahamas anyway??

Sorry... just can''t believe that anyone would call what you''ve linked to as ''charts of the Bahamas'' much less call them charts at all, or even remotely suggest that anyone set sail with them as charts.
