sailingdog The high point may be a pulpit, pushpit, dinghy davit or radar mast... so make sure you have the correct height of the boat. I would also give them the total vertical clearance for the trailer, which is the height of the boat plus the distance from the bottom of the keel to the ground when the boat is on the trailer.

camaraderie The height is the bottom of the keel to the top of the coach roof or arch or any other hi point that will not be removed during transport.

Two questions

1. How important is the type of trailer when hauling from Florida to Lake Ontario? My boat is a Valiant 37 (17000lb) Beam 11'5", Mast 54'.

2. Haulers are asking me the height of the boat. Would that be the draft (5'9") + freeboard at stem (4'7")
