Spartite 2000 mast wedge replacement system - need info

Spartite will replace the rubber blocks at the partners. It does leak water. It is also damaged by sunlight. To protect from sun and reduce water leakage, cover with mast wrap tape or mast boot. I also silicone around the mast-spartite joint. There should be no "shock loads" from the mast to deck since the mast will not move laterally in the partners - a big improvement over wood or rubber blocks. It should not matter how large the mast is, only the size of the gap between the mast and deck. You will need to estimate how much to use to fill the space per the instructions.

Great product. Fairly easy to install. Have had mine for 4 years - CAL40.

Spartite 2000 mast wedge replacement system - need info

We have a 1975 40''Northstar 80/20 Ketch (also know as the Spice Islander and Hughes 40)- and would appreciate any personal experience with the Spartite 2000 Mast Wedge Replacement System. Does it replace the rubber partners - does it leak and/or does it need a mast boot on top of it? Does it transmit shocks from mast to hull or hull to mast? Our main mast is massive - Sparkman Stevens Design We will be gone for about 6 weeks - from April 14 - so any requested response will be delayed until we get back. Thanks in advance for any info.
