Boaters Rights (Mooring-Anchoring)

The boats that are in the river now have their own ground tackle. The city wants to put their moorings in and remove all boats that are in the river now. Any maritime attorneys want to jump in on this one. Trying to save the river for the public as it has been since 1729 before it is ttooooooooooo late Thanks !!!!

Boaters Rights (Mooring-Anchoring)

If mooring is provided, the providers can charge for their use. However, if the boaters use their own ground tackle, I would guess they can anchor for free, but not where the moorings are located.

Boaters Rights (Mooring-Anchoring)

I live in a nice little town in SC. This has been a boater friendly town since 1526-1729---boaters have always been able to moor out in the river downtown for free. As in many other communities the city fathers have decided to put an end to this and charge for mooring bouys with a two day maximum stay. Do the boats that are here have any grandfather or other type of rights that would allow them to stay where thay are?? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
