sailingdog Even if you don't get the renewal form in the mail, you can download it from the USCG website. Fill it out and FAX it in....

BTW, if you miss the deadline for renewal, the USCG only charges $5.00 for renewing up to 30 days after the deadline.

Specialized Yacht Services is a ripoff.

If anything your state may request an annual registration fee, but not the USCG.

SDJohn You are correct. Sign the form from the USGC, make any address corrections, mail it back to them and they mail you the new documentation certificate, good for another year. There is no charge.

Documentation Renewal

I think I have been scammed. I received an official looking letter from Specialized Yacht Services, Babylon, NY offering to renew my Documentation for a $75 service fee. Unless things have changed from our last boat, the CG sends a notice of renewal which is sent back and the renewal occurs for no charge. Am I wrong?
