trantor12020 Ok must be the sun that's clouding my sight, its Spinlock XAS. Thanks. I sparyed it with McLube, helped some but not to what I expect. Any idea how the cam can be removed without disassembly? Shouild I knock out the 1 large pin that holds all 3 cam lever ?

pvanv1 You can remove the cam in the Spinlock XAS without disassembly. Clean everything, and maybe a shot of McLube Sailkote on the lever pivot (NOT on the friction surfaces!)

sailingdog Umm... Lewmar doesn't make the XAS clutch. Spinlock does. Be aware that Spinlock clutches often have a problem releasing if under a heavy load. That's one reason I don't like them and don't recommend them.

Lewmar XAS clutch

When new, my Lewmar XAS clutch opens and closes easily even unload. Now it takes some effort. I wanted to strip it to service. I unscrew the 3 bolts and nuts on the side but cannot split open the clutches. Any advise appreciated.
