timebandit According to an original spec sheet I have it is a 10hp but I suspect that is for a 2 stroke for weight.

I have a 8 hp 2 stroke and reach 6kts at 1/2 throttle.

outboard specs

i have a 21 and have a 6hp 2 stroke merc on it. kinda heavy on the engine mount. if you have tidal or current conditions or high winds you want the max but if you are on a lake then min will suffice. some use trolling motors.

Mac 21 Outboard

I'm sure there is a spec for the maximum HP O/B that can be safely run on a Mac 21, however, i don't have it!
Any suggestions
