These threads about religion and politics are so wierd in that I sometimes can''t resist jumping in and adding my totally profound and meaningless drivel like the rest, but it''s not a good thing. Not at all. It''s like instinctively snapping your head around and looking up the shirt of a fat woman: hormones demand it but the brain carries the vision forever like a scar.

I think it''s beter to ask why so many people claim to prefer the Bruce anchor yet the CQR commands the higher price by a factor of two to one. I don''t get it. If the Bruce is so good, why don''t they get what CQR gets? And the ''lower cost to manufacter'' argument doesn''t make sense as anyone holding a Windows XP CD in one hand and an AOL CD in the other surely knows. Same item, same cost to manufacture, one free, one vastly overpriced. I think the CQR must be twice as good.

And sailboats with two and three hulls. I don''t get it. What are they thinking? Fast? Please! It runs by wind! Fourteen knots isn''t fast! Mach 3 is fast! Micheal Schumacher is fast! A woman with a lawyer can drain your bank account fast! But multihulls are just silly. I don''t get it. Faster than my 6 knot tub might be good, but not at that price. There''s something spiritually wrong with it, like voodoo or proctos. It''s just wrong.

Is there such a thing as a safe offshore bank account? Just a thought, what with all this talk about privatization of social security. I really believe the president. Oh yes. I think people who spent a lifetime working in MacDonalds, or as hospital orderlies or as public roadcrews have the intellectual wherwithall to manage private investment accounts without being made victim to both scam artists and the IRS. After all, the exact system the president is suggesting already crashed completely in Britain and they are now looking at our social security system as a fix. I hear the republicans, but I don''t get it.

Are there any train wrecks out there we can watch?

Just wondering.

Are Norseman fittings better than Staylock? One seems better but I can''t decide.

Actually, the TAIKI gang was much more active in the warmer months. There are about three or four principal members, all of whom are intolerant to opposing viewpoints. Their chief antagonist is the good 928frenzy, who can''t resist attempting to debate them in rational terms. One simply cannot argue rationally with closed minds.

I note that after a lull of over six months, the originator of the TAIKI thread yesterday posted a laundry list of trial and tribulations. Sure enough, 928 had to weigh in again. I empathize with his attempts to offer an alternate viewpoint, but he will never, ever get the last word.

1) I second the motion that you need to post here more often. Well, you can spare us your more bizarro stuff, but at least you don''t think you''re saving humanity by posting here.

2) You of all people should know that your comment about finding "concise sailing information" on Sailnet only applies as long as the resident pedant stays invisible!

3) I like Sam, even if he does eat camel dung. He''s a fellow Pearsonite for God''s sake!!! (Ooops, will the the Truth as I Know It gang come after me now?)

I think that will be one of Mrs Rice''s first jobs. To go over there and sniff out the "WMD''s". She was sure that they were there.
