kwaltersmi [QUOTE=Wayne25;487613]I'm glad to see someone else will enjoy her, rather than going into the scrap yard.

The new owner told me he has plans to trailer her to northern Michigan this summer and cruise Lake Huron's North Channel. The NC is a pristine cruising area with hundreds of little islands and clear, blue waters. I hope to make it up there myself someday.

kwaltersmi Wayne - The Irwin is in great shape. Though I enjoyed the rehab project on the H25, I just didn't have it in me to spend another season working instead of sailing.

If you're interested, you can see more pictures of the new boat in this thread:

Wayne25 Kevin:
You did a great job restoring Hannabel! Probably the reason you were able to sell her in a rather short period of time. I'm glad to see someone else will enjoy her, rather than going into the scrap yard.
Is the Irwin a restore project or just minor items to make her your own? I look forward to seeing some pictures.
If you didn't already, have the new owner come on the board and say hi.

Kevin - I am going to miss all of your fine posts and discussion about the Helms 25. You were my mentor and almost sole source of inspiration.

Good luck with your new craft. I looked up the boat and it sure has a lot more room than the Helms - and an internal engine. What an upgrade...

Thank you!

Helms sailors,

It is with mixed emotions that I inform you I sold Hannabel (Helms 25) over this past weekend. She's an amazing boat that brought priceless experience, fun and joy to my family and I. However, it was time for more room, so we purchased an Irwin 28 MkIV.

I want to sincerely thank each of you that I've communicated with over the last couple of years about sailing and more specifically Helms sailboats. Without your advice and ideas, Hannabel wouldn't have turned out to be the great vessel she is today. Thank you!
