Well you weren't alone. We motored most of our trip although we did get a very nice sail in from Tilghman Is to Oxford in 10-15kt winds. Also motor sailed quite a bit which gave us a lift. Still no complaints on my end as it was such a nice week.

|deniseO30||can't beat myself up because of the weather I guess. that's just how it goes. Motoring between ports with a boat that was designed to sail is just terribly boring! not to mention how slow!|

Well Denise I don't know how you could have asked for a better week. We had storm cells pass above and below us but never felt a drop of rain until tonight after we got home. Just a gorgeous week on the bay.

Sorry about your grounding at Great Oaks. That and the powerboaters have us do Wharton or Stillpond. We were anchored in Eagles Nest this weekend right in front of the horse farm as we were the last to anchor there.
As stated before I am no fan of Chesapeake City.

|deniseO30||uh.. back home now! Tied up to the YC docks at 7 pm (high tide would have been at 7:23. the rest of the trip after leaving St Mikes was boring ! No wind! Dobbins Island was a nice evening. went back to great oaks at dead low tide, ran aground! got unstuck without help and said "F.... it".. and went on up to the sassafras and ordinary point. All we did was motor! GRRRR! The noise that lil 16 hp diesel makes made me insane! Now imagine the big surprise we had when we arrived at Chesapeake City on Friday afternoon... Canal days! OMG! hundreds of boats, floats, dinks, tubes, topless young ladies and more! after much agonizing we talked with the harbor patrol guys and they directed us to the back of the anchorage. The heat finally took it's toll on me and I was just completely burned out. We left the cove in the morning, got a sluggish start and finally picked up the outgoing current to the Delaware. Honestly.. the best part of the trip was the cool windy weather all the way home on the Delaware River! Much of the way we motored with the genoa out helping us cross the 10mph mark since the current was with us too! Fun ride nearly all the way up river! Michele was bored but loved the experiance and is looking forward to our next trip.. (I'm not)|

Agree with Chef as usual... skip Dobbins and either continue around the bend to Eagles Cove (Eagles Nest) or continue up the Magothy 2 more miles and anchor in broad Creek in front of the HUGE glass house on the hill.

When was the last time you hailed someone on a VHS—which is a video tape format, rather than a VHF, which is a type of marine radio.
