larrabo Anybody know how to determine whether 8hp outboard would be enough power to push an Irwin28? The boat is in a creek off of a tributary of the Chesapeake. During the summer mostly light air conditions exist.

My atomic 4 inboard died and to repower the inboard would be out of the budget. Im looking install a motor mount on the stern and purchase an outboard. Found a good deal on 8hp Mercury. Would that be enough power to push an Irwin 28 CB ?
