go to the Tayana Owners Group Site (TOG) http://tognews.com/ This website has just re-started, so the posting is still sparse as other TOG members migrate in from Sailnet and SailJazz.
Go to "projects", then click on "FTP site", then "Teak_Decks_Teak_Oil" ...this will give you a good method and formulas of teak deck dressings that seem to do very well in long-term protecting the deck. Of course you MUST do a trial to test the compatibility of any dressing versus the caulking - so you dont wind up with a gooey disaster.
For recaulkking, most folks are switching from a 2-part caulk towards a single part oxime cure caulk from TDS Teak Decking Systems (Available from JamestownDistibutors.com)
BTW you probably should ''sign-in'' & join the TOG group. Its a very active owners group. This site is just getting started, dont judge the site by the current lack of posts. The FTP site (Projects & Pubs.) is an accumulation of about 15-20 years of various projects on Tayanas - its still incomplete as they still have a lot to ''migrate'' from the Sailnet FTP site.
You might also want to join the Tayana Discussion Group at SaillJazz - this is an email discussion group. www.sailjazz.net.
Congrats on your new Ty37. Hope this helps.

Teak Deck - Finish It or NOT?
I just purchased a 37 Tayana and she has a teak deck. It was just re caulked a month ago, but there is no finish on the wood. Can I put finish on it without redoing the caulking or should I leave the teak bare. If I can finish it without redoing the caulking, what product would be best for a teak deck.
