Re: Ocean Yachts Co of Pachogue NY

By the way, I had listed the 12 on the "Used Sailboat Equipment" site. Don't really want to sell her. There's a couple of pics of her being sailed in Ocean City Md by my son and his wife.

Islands Yachts

I own a mint, 1978, Islands 12. Barn-kept, unsailed since 1986. She is a ball to sail in heavy air and not bad in light. I weigh 250 so I can ride the rail very well in heavy air. I sail mostly in Assawoman Bay behind Assateague Island, Md. The water stays very flat even in good wind. I have the original paperwork on the boat from Islands in Pachogue, Long Island. She was $975 with trailer and they sent a doodad later to keep the rudder from floating off. Never seen a 20; only a couple 17's. Good luck, if it's like mine it's a good little boat. John O'Dell

Ocean Yachts Co of Pachogue NY

Looking for other owners of Islands sailboats made by Ocean Yachts Co. The hull numbers start with XYX. I have an Islands 20 and have found one other person with an Islands 17. They seem to be rather rare.
