As everyone has been saying, please do keep in touch. And if you decide to venture up the coast to the northeast, please let me know. Not only will I give you what little knowledge I have about cruising these parts (and they are truly extraordinary from May through September), I'll find you places to stay and I'll take you to dinner (I know this great BBQ place).

In the more immediate term, we'll be in the Abacos for a week in February, in case you manage to get there during that time period. Let me know, and we can try to get the families together on the water.

All my best,

Dan
Thanks Dan! I will take you up on that. I do not know where we will be in February, may still be FL, who knows?

Let's stay in touch.

Come on, Ray - I need to know what I get for my money!

I have always gotten a Silver Dollar dated the year of the boat's launching...

He has been in speech most of his life (and still is and probably will be for a long time) trying to learn to speak correctly due to a mechanical defect he has had since he was a baby. SO, for any kid to make UIL is great. But for a kid with a speech impairment to place in UIL (1-6th place makes the team or whatever) that is really awesome! I am so proud of him. It really marks a great step forward in his progress. Only 2 kids in his school made it (4th grade), and he was one.

Pretty cool, huh???

Brian
Spoken like one GREAT Dad, a dad that is making plans to go sailing! Congrats to Chase and to the fam!

Commonly used are coins ( any coin ) that have special meaning to ya (example: minted in the yr you were born or the yr the vessel was first splashed ) just don't use 5200 to secure the coin in place or use sums to hard to make change, that tends to piss the ferryman off

Best of luck to ya CD, sounds like a good time so far

sailingdog Traditionally, the coins are to be silver... as payment for Charon's ferry should the ship sink.

nemier Brian,
Great news about your Son Chase.
As a Dad, I understand the absolute pride you are feeling now.
As the days go by and the odd frustration comes along, dwell on that feeling you got when Chase came home with the good news.
