Just helped with a in water engine swap from a 2cyl volvo gas to a 2cyl universal diesel, remade mounts trans adaptor plate & exhaust , A lot of adapting & work to do the swap was done to make it all work right, Well to day we fired it up & all is working as should, put it in gear to check linkage & shaft alignment All is good , Then I notice the dock lines are slack & no prop wash:eek: So  I need to know if anyone could tell me what size prop was on this 1973 28' Irwin the shaft is 7/8''

First of all I have no idea what propellor was originally on the boat. Assuming the prop fell off in the boat's current location, the simplest thing would be to have somebody dive for it. Be aware, however, that changing engines often requires different prop sizes for efficient operation, so the old one may not do you any good.

Thanks for the reply, I think the P .O had removed the prop when the Volvo died & they where using an out board on it, But they can't remember what they done with it, If we can find out what was on it then that would give us a starting point for what needs to go back on
