|dealweb||I happen to be redoing my deck core at the moment so I can answer on how this was done for my '68 Cal. The support beam was not glued in at all. It has two braces which were just screwed in. The mast plate was through bolted to the support beam and the middle shrouds were also bolted. The beam was tabbed using fiberglass on the ends. Let me know if you need any pics of specific areas of the Cal also and I can take those for you.|

Cal 20 mast support question
I'm restoring a Cal 20 and I've pulled out the deck/mast support beam (has the stainless support poles) and I'm curious if it's supposed to be glued to the inside of the deck. What about the ends? Should they be glued and fiberglassed to the hull as well? Needless to say the previous work done on this boat was horrible and I'm cleaning up messes left and right. Thanks all!
