I have been reading the forums for a long time, just learning from everybody but I hope to get a little more active. I recently completed an ASA 101 course, so I finally have a little bit of experience under my belt. I look forward to continuing to learn from everybody. Keep up the good work!

No boat. That’s the problem. My buddy’s grandfather has a boat and I think he is going to let us take it out some, once we earn his trust. I have also contacted the local yacht club to see if they have anywhere I can get plugged in. Any other ideas about getting started and getting some experience?

You'll read a lot on here about getting started on OPBs (other people's boats). The yacht club is a good start. In addition to checking with the club itself, you can try meeting people on the docks and just letting them know that you're willing to go along as crew. If the club has any kind of racing program there are probably people looking for rail meat.
