Another thing...your 1993 B445 is now 17-18 years old.
How sturdy are things like the standing rigging. Is the engine original and tired? What about the condition of the rudder stock? How conditioned are the portlight seals and such...do they leak or weep as it stands? How reliable will your electronics be?
If you can inspect this boat and say "Yes, I've inspected all these items on the boat, and not only are they in good shape, but many have been upgraded beyond what the factory provided"....then and only then would I even consider taking a Beneteau across oceans.

Beneteau is the suv of the sailing world...a lot of boat for the buck, but design compromises made for suburban comfort vs commercial hauling. Make sense?

|night0wl||Great as a live aboard, but you better make sure all systems are in good shape before taking this coastal cruiser offshore. Many have done it on a large Beneteau (this boat may have been France built and come over on it's own bottom...not sure) but please respect the oceans.|

Thinking of purchasing a nice Beneteau 445 ( 1993).
Any thought on the boat? I will be using it for liveaboard and possibly crossing the Atlantic.
Just wondering if the design of the boat will be able to take crossings
