Given what can happen if your anchor rode fails, I'd also recommend going with new chain. You don't necessarily know the history of the chain, or what type of chain it is, or how many times it has been regalvanized, etc.

Given its importance I'd be thinking seriously of all new chain even if you end up with less of it. We have 35metres (approx 115') plus nylon warp of about twice that and find it quite satisfactory especially with the new anchor.
Failing that you need to give the galvanising a good looking at. Any idea how old the chain is and/or when it was last checked ?

I also keep 250' of chain but I never replace all of it at a time. I ocassionally cut off a more coroded 50 feet and attach a new length. There are a cou[le of marketed connector links that are suitable but I often find that they will corrode at a faster rate than my chain. Though these connector links ride well over my gypsy, I elect to use a pair of Crosby shackles at connections. They jump and knock over my gypsy, but it's a short stutter and never a jam. Many also use those "H" shaped connectors, but I can't recall their name,- someone here will know. I should add that I use a manual windlass and I can monitor my shackle jump over the gypsy. Weakest link in anchor chain
I finally got around to pulling out the anchor chain from the bow of my 35' project boat. I was surprised to find 250' of 3/8 chain. Did not look like that much in the bow. Score one for me!, I thought, as I had finally found something on this boat that might be usable. However my jubilee was short lived when I found a single link about midway that was rusted most of the way though.
So the question is can chain be repaired. I hate to throw away 250' of chain because of one link. Any kind of user installed link will effect the chain going over the windlass.
