Hello from Kentucky

Have always loved the out doors, hunting, golfing, horses, have a houseboat on a small lake in ky. For some reason no idea why or where it come from, its like I am drawn to the ocean. Haven't really been around the ocean that much, but its always fascinated me. Always said I love the lake life, but if I had been close to the ocean I most diffently would have had a sailboat. Anyways married with kids and took a vacation to Holden Beach NC last year. Went for a short cruise on a charter 28 footer I think. I was hooked. Went back a month later and took sailing 101. Stayed on the boat while I was there. Loved it all, the atmosphere of the dock, all the different kinds of boats. Spent hours walking the docks just looking at the boats. Went home fired up about sailing, but the dream was put on hold for main reasons distance, family, and work. That was last summer, the dream has been rekindled with a passion. Found a lake within 2 hrs drive time that has some decent sailing or at least I hope. Plans are to sail there during the summer to gain some exp. and head to flordia during the winter for longer periods to do some costal cruising. Long term is to sail the caribbean during the winter months and the lake in the summer. Just wanted to sah hello to everyone and habe been overwhelmed by all the information there is to making a decision in buying a boat.
