sailpower The owner of the boat that I was tracking and the second buyer actually financed the molds and their boats and a third were built by Seafarer.

It ended up being called a Hughes 48 and the rest were built by Hughes in Canada..

HUGHES 48 sailboat on More than 6000 sailboats, sailing yachts, dinghies and sailing craft listed.

landmineop Beautiful sailboat. Nice detective work !

sailpower Mystery solved!

This is an S&S design built in 1970. The first three were built by Seafarer and the remaining fifteen were built by Hughes in Canada. Iím told that the Hughes build quality may be somewhat suspect.

This particular boat is hull number one still owned by the original owner!

It is a 48í yawl named Bonnie.

mitiempo I thought of the Spencer as well but it's not.

Definitely from a good builder. Like Seguin or...

SloopJonB It's definitely not a Fraser - note the cabin top ends at the mast leaving a large flush foredeck - the Fraser cabin goes much further forward. It is definitely not a Swan either - they never built anything even close to that design.

My first thought was a Spencer 1330 but on closer inspection it ain't that either - I'm stumped.

mitiempo Maybe an early Hood. Do any of the Bristols have hull ports?

The cabin ports are perfectly sized for the cabin - and clean looking as well. The teak dorade boxes would only come from a quality builder. Maybe it is a custom boat?

Ketch rigged and obviously American - it has those "illegal in Canada" horseshoe buoys.

Faster Looks more like a big ol' Hood or Bristol to me....

Calling Bob Perry.
