hellosailor I'm going to look on the bright side and say this means somefool, ergh, someone, thinks the economy is getting stronger enough so that they can build ritzy waterfront condos. Or dock-o-minimums.

Stamford...I thought they still had blight and unemployment problems of their own, beyond the usual.

Or could it be a Chinese containership port?! (VBG)

ronbo1 I would think the Glen Cove Ferry Terminal under construction will deter people from staying year round at Brewers with the resultant noise, traffic, and congestion.

jjablonowski I wonder if Brewer's is betting on increased traffic/exposure from the proposed Glen Cove Ferry Terminal project across Glen Cove Creek?

Not sure I'm too happy about this actually. I've done winter storage in Glen Cove Marina the past two winters and liked the place and the people. Now I have to support a pool, flower beds, yada yada ...

Last I checked, Brewers was almost $1K more in total fees for the winter.

Yamsailor Probably going to condos. Great. Another destination for boaters destroyed.

Bene505 SB,

Thanks for the news. A group of friends and I sailed there last January, and I soloed to there just last March. Beautiful marina with a little "harbor" on it's grounds that makes for an ultra sheltered area.

Here's a picture form their site. I would imaging that the existing slips in the center of the picture would stay in place, and the little "harbor" barely seen on the right. But the marina grounds at the top of the picture is what's going away. That's my guess anyway.

Regards Brewers Glen Cove, the marina next door to it was in bankruptcy for a long time. I think the owners bought at the real estate peak or something.

Brewers Glen Cove is a well run operation. They serviced our prop a couple years ago, it fell off very soon afterwards. Mistakes can happen. They reimbursed me completely for a brand new prop, prop nut, zinc, express shipping and the diver to get it all fixed at a remote location (Martha's Vineyard). That philosophy helps retain customers.

Regards,
Brad
