Browser. At first I was thrilled with the Android app, but it's limitations bother me. Specifically, its home screen shows fewer recent threads and doesn't filter out off topic as recent. People who hang out on Off Topic appear to be vigorous posters, but their threads are not of interest to me, so I have fallen back on the browser most of the time.
The logged-off, minimized chat bar covers one thread title in the home page, but it doesn't scroll off screen with that title so it's always obscuring something. Just a chronic minor annoyance, not the end of the world.
edit: That description is not quite accurate but it's not worth a bunch of verbiage to be detailed specific. The part about "annoyance" is right.

DRFerron Perhaps people do not realize that in the browser if they click the bottom of the little chat windows, they minimize.

Not true, at least in the United States. The Chicago Manual of Style, Turabian, and other resources address the use of punctuation. Some publications including newspapers have their own versions. Many companies have style guides as well for proposals and other corporate publications. The use of serial commas (the one before an adjoining conjunction in a list) is usually addressed because usage does differ.

I don't believe my background includes a "superior eduction." In fact as an engineer I am very highly trained and poorly educated. I had to teach myself to write effectively in order to advance my career. Language including vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation is all we have in order to communicate. Poor language skills lead to poor communication and on to misunderstanding. There is no excuse for not caring - just laziness.

Actually not. I did make an earlier post supporting the importance of language, but the one about style guides was a feeble attempt at humor relating to another post pointing to the first post about language skills.

I'm sorry you think my behavior was arrogant. That was not and is not my intent. Communication is important - it is indeed all we have.

Thanks!

Thanks, smallboatlover, for braving the grammar police and pointing out that I have the power to get rid of this damn chat bar in the middle of my iPad screen. OOPS, am I allowed to cuss on here....?
