Re: '98 Hunter 376 Impeller

That's exactly what I did. I could never remove the impeller otherwise. I bought an inspection hatch with a waterproof seal from a chandlery (I think it was by Bomar from West Marine) and cut a hole in the wall through the wall from the head right beside the waterpump/impeller. Raise the engine cover before you make the cut so you don't damage it if you cut too deep. Measure a couple of times before cutting the hole to make sure the hatch is properly aligned with the impeller. It's still hard to change, but at least now it is possible.

Has anyone made enhancements to their 376 which would allow easier access to the water impeller? Mine is right up against the wall of the head, with very little access. You need to work with a mirror just to see what you are doing.

I've thought about cutting out part of the wall and putting in a 'door' of some sorts, but am looking for any other ideas.
